Shore Sites

The shore diving in Eyemouth is among the best in the area, with easy access and plentiful car parking. Cars can be taken to within 25 metres of the water’s edge. The scenic rocky shore is an ideal spot for a family picnic and a rummage through the rock pools to keep non-divers happy.

The gullies used for shore diving are generally sheltered from rough seas and tidal flows, making them ideal for novice divers and trainees.

Maps of the dive sites are available in the dive centre to allow you to plan your dives and help with navigation.

The scenic highlights of the shore gullies include a chimney swim-through, small caves, kelp gardens, rocky and sandy bottoms as well as the reef walls fully encrusted with soft corals, sponges and anemones.

Sealife often to be found includes starfish, urchins, crabs, lobsters, pollack, cod, scorpion fish, lumpsuckers and even dogfish and conger eels. Particularly exciting visitors include seabirds such a guilliemots and cormorants during the spring and seals at any time of the year.
